Important Reflections and Commitments for November

Our last two client retreats of the year took place over the past two weekends and it was incredible to see the women come out with big wins. Spending these weekends together provide an opportunity for exponential growth. I witnessed our clients release fear, doubt, anxiety, stress. I witnessed them step into there power, belief in themselves, dreams, and transformation.

There were two important things that I saw come up that I want to share with you, in hopes it provides you value…

  1. The significance of self-care and…
  2. The power of allowing yourself to be supported.
I know, I know… you already know these things are important. You have already read the books on it, attended the master classes about it. Shoot… you are the one out of your group of gal pals that tells the rest of the group to make sure they are doing it.Knowing something logically does not mean that you are following through though. We can talk about something all day long, but if we are not applying it, then we can’t expect the breakthrough.

First and foremost, remember that self-care is not selfish. Especially as we approach the holiday season, distractions can easily creep in—get-togethers, parties, travel, work projects, and more. However, neglecting self-care can make managing these distractions even more challenging. It’s a simple truth: when you take care of yourself, everything else becomes more manageable.

SELF-CARE:
Self-care doesn’t have to be overly complicated or time-consuming. Start your day by dedicating time to your non-negotiables. For me, it involves quiet time for prayer and reflection, good hygiene, healthy eating, proper hydration, and some physical activity. Ask yourself, “Who do I want to be in this world, and what kind of life do I want to create?” Begin your day with these intentions, and you’ll find it easier to stay on track amidst distractions.

SUPPORT:
Second, let others support you. This is a really hard one for a lot of women because we are used to being the one who takes care of it all… from the groceries, to the kids being clean and healthy, to the state of the home, and sometimes even the sole breadwinner to top it off.Allowing support in is a sign of strength, not weakness in my eyes. Most likely whatever you are facing, someone has already created a solution to it. We usually don’t need to reinvent the wheel, but allow the proper support in that can show you how to streamline your process to your goal. This will save you so much time, money and heartache.

So, I invite you to take a close look at these two aspects of your life today—self-care and allowing support. What can you do today to structure your daily schedule to prioritize these elements, and commit to doing so throughout November? Let’s see what miracles can happen when you make these commitments a priority. Here’s to a month of taking great care of ourselves and embracing the growth that comes from being part of a community.
